Curriculum resources for schools
Foundation phase & early years
Working closely with teachers, curriculum experts and the department for education, we pioneered the introduction of Foundation Phase learning by creating a character driven brand and set of resources called ‘Fflic a Fflac’.
80 books, 40 songs, 30 hours of interactive digital content and 2 puppets later, we have sold and distributed thousands Fflic a Fflac products and continue to support over 1,500 schools in their teaching and learning methods.
Literacy & numeracy
Literacy and numeracy are core competencies in today's rapidly evolving world. Taking a gamification approach, we created and published learning Apps that are first and foremost of the visual quality kids expect, fun to play, and underpinned with curriculum mapped outcomes and teacher guidance.
Digital competence
Botio is a gaming app designed for primary school children of all abilities. Immerse yourself in a challenge-based set of tasks to code your way up the levels to reach the centre of the solar system. Didn’t think you knew what code was? Didn’t think you could write code? You can now!
Languages
We design and develop a range of language learning resources for French, Spanish, German and Welsh, as well as mentoring initiatives and intervention programmes for global language and culture awareness.
Thematic learning
We first started developing national resources to support thematic learning in 2008 aligned to the Curriculum for Excellence in Scotland. With ten years’ experience under our belt, we now thread thematic learning into a range of our output aligned to new curriculums and learning styles.
Additional learning needs (ALN)
For ALN learners often the choice of resources is limited. We take great pride in our work for Welsh Government in producing engaging resources that help support the teaching and learning of Children and young people with learning, physical or sensory needs.
Subject specific
Websites, apps, eBooks, eDictionaries, video, animation, eLearning and print; we work with our pool of the very best subject experts to author and produce subject specific resources and content to support teaching and learning needs. Visit our learn.cymru site to link to them.
